Who we are

The Marmont Foundation is a UK charity turning research into practical action.

We bring together research, training and engineering to deliver sustainable energy, water and housing solutions in communities facing the growing impacts of climate change.

The challenges are complex. Our approach is simple: understand the problem, work with the people affected, and build solutions that last.

Why our approach works

Two projects, two very different settings — the same principle: solutions built with the people who will rely on them.

Water, energy and food, in one system

Our work in Malawi illustrates our approach. The links between water, energy and food security shape daily life: solar power pumps clean water, water feeds crops, and energy fuels homes and local businesses.

That is why we take a whole-system approach — combining technology with local knowledge and practical training.

Our aim is not simply to install infrastructure. It is to help communities develop the skills and confidence to build, maintain and improve it themselves.

Building homes fit for the future

Closer to home, we work with housing co-operatives to transform affordable homes into warmer, healthier and more energy-efficient places to live.

By improving insulation and energy efficiency, we help residents reduce energy costs, improve comfort and prepare their homes for a changing climate.

For us, sustainability is simple: better homes for people, with less impact on the planet — and in the pocket.

How we work

We do not attempt to be everywhere. We work alongside trusted delivery partners in places where we can create sustainable impact, tailored to specific needs.

Real progress is built together, and collaboration sits at the heart of everything we do. Our partners and donors help create solutions that last, genuinely changing lives.

Local partners

We work through trusted delivery partners who understand the places we serve.

Training, not just building

Every project funds scholarships and equips communities to design, construct and run their own infrastructure.

Built to last

Progress that endures for generations, not projects that end when we leave.

Help us build solutions that last.
